We never thought we’d have to name our home or car. But calling our new home “the RV” just didn’t have a ring to it. And some of our favorite YouTubers named their vans and boats…so maybe we should too?
After a couple discussions, nothing seemed to stick and it all sounded forced or generic. Not true to who we are or what we thought the RV meant to us.
I was describing the name of another van named “Casa B” and Artur misheard me, thinking I said “Casa V.”
It was a good mistake.
We say “casa” regularly to describe houses and “V” was quickly changed to “Vii” as we have this oddly specific affinity for words with double i’s. For us, Casa V(ii) means two things: “Home 5” as in the fifth home we’ve lived in together and “House Vehicle” given it’s a motorhome.
We’ve also changed our personal definition of “RV.” Instead of “recreational vehicle” we refer to it as “residential vehicle.”
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
